2017 Registration Information

The 2017 Hamlin Park Baseball Association (HPBA) Program will include nearly 1,000 players (boys and girls ages 5 - 19) participating in 9 different divisions, six baseball divisions and three softball divisions. As in past years, there continues to be tremendous interest in any openings, and we anticipate that there will be more demand for openings than there are spots available. "Waiting Lists” will be developed for each division.

Important Registration Dates for the 2017 Season

November 19, 2016 -- Early online registration for Summer 2016 season returning players .  Space is limited and will fill up quickly.  This is first come, first served for any early registration spots that are available.  Returning players who do not secure a spot at this time will be placed on the wait list and must try to get a remaining spot in the new player lottery process.  No spots are guaranteed.

November 26, 2016 -- Siblings of returning players may register for any remaining 2017 spots in our Pee Wee, Bantam Midget and Liberty Baseball Divisions.  These programs have many returning players who will have the first opportunity to register and siblings of returning players get the secondary opportunity to claim any available spots.  Any siblings who do not secure an open spot will be placed on the wait list and must try to get a remaining spot in the new player lottery process.  No spots are guaranteed.

December 10, 2016 -  January 11, 2017 -- Online lottery pre-registration for new and non-registered returning players/siblings.

January 10-11, 2017 -- Lottery number distribution for new and non-registered returning players/siblings in all divisions.

January 11, 2017 — Lottery drawing for Roster and Waiting List openings in all divisions

January 12, 2017 — Final In-Person Registration at Hamlin Park Fieldhouse from 4:00-9:00.

All selected numbers must attend to claim their reserved place in the league.  Any selected lottery number who does not attend will forfeit their spot.  Anyone selected for the wait list must attend to reserve their place on the wait list.  Any numbers which were not selected who would like to be added to the wait list are welcome to attend to have their name added to the wait list.

January 16, 2017 -- Ongoing online registration re-opens for all remaining openings in all divisions

Please visit the Online Registration area for information on any openings which may remain and to submit a registration.

General Information

Age cut-off: The birth date cut-off for all baseball divisions is May 1, 2017.  The birth date cut-off for all softball divisions is January 1, 2017 with a Pee Wee softball eligibility exception for girls who will turn 7 between January 1, 2017 - May 1, 2017.

Early Registration: Offered to players who were on an active roster at the end of the most recent, past season of spring/summer baseball or softball.  Early Registration occurs on a first-come, first-served basis and returning players are not "automatically" guaranteed a spot in the upcoming season. Divisions often fill quickly. Returning players may be entered into the Lottery for Open Registration (or may be placed on the Waiting List) if a division is full.

Fund Raising: Each family is required to participate in the HPBA “Parent Grand Slam Raffle” fundraiser. As part of the registration fee each player will receive $50 worth of raffle tickets. As this cost has been included in the base registration fee for each player, the tickets may be sold and the proceeds handled at the family's discretion. The raffle prizes will be awarded in July.

Scholarship Program: HPBA will be offering families the opportunity to sponsor other deserving players in the program who may not have the financial resources to fully cover their registration fees. If you would like to contribute to our "Jack Burke Scholarship Fund", there will be a place within the registration process for you to make a tax deductible contribution to help these kids participate.

If applying for scholarship, a Scholarship Application Form should be sent in after filling out the either the online registration form (follow the pay by check directions) or when completing the paper registration form.

Play Up / Play Down: Returning players may apply to play up or play down to another division.  Candidates must complete the Play Up / Play Down Application Form in order to be considered.  All players who are new to HPBA are expected to play in the division which is designated for their age and birth date.
